IRASIG is an antifungal medication containing 100 mg of Itraconazole per capsule. It belongs to the triazole group of antifungals, which works by inhibiting the synthesis of fungal cell membranes, effectively stopping the spread of infection. This medication is particularly indicated for treating fungal infections that affect various parts of the body, including the skin and internal organs. A primary clinical focus for IRASIG is restoring clear nails in patients suffering from onychomycosis (fungal nail infections), which often require oral systemic therapy to penetrate the nail bed effectively. Each pack contains 4 capsules, typically utilized in specific “pulse” or short-course dosing regimens.
