Description
Endorm is a combination medication containing Alendronic Acid and Cholecalciferol, designed for the treatment and prevention of osteoporosis and related bone disorders. Alendronic acid belongs to the bisphosphonate class and works by inhibiting osteoclast-mediated bone resorption, thereby helping to maintain or increase bone density and reduce the risk of fractures. Cholecalciferol (vitamin D3) plays a crucial role in enhancing calcium absorption from the gut and maintaining proper bone mineralization. This combination is particularly beneficial for individuals at risk of bone loss, such as postmenopausal women and elderly patients with vitamin D deficiency. Endorm is typically taken once a week on an empty stomach with a full glass of water, and patients are advised to remain upright for at least 30 minutes afterward to minimize the risk of esophageal irritation. While effective, it may cause side effects such as gastrointestinal discomfort, acid reflux, or musculoskeletal pain, and should be used under medical supervision, especially in individuals with existing digestive or kidney conditions.
